Personalised Nutrition for the Mind
Understanding biochemical individuality through genetic analysis has become increasingly popular in the health industry, enabling more personalised, naturopathic and effective approaches to physical and mental health.
Emma will discuss the importance of looking at genetics in context - considering gene-to-gene and gene-environment interactions. She will present examples of genetic variances that can affect neurotransmitter balance and demonstrate the need to understand the diverse root causes of anxiety and depression and benefits of a personalised nutritional approach over one size fits all medication regime.
Emma is a nutritional therapist and member of ANP, the IFM (Institute of Functional Medicine) and the ISSN (International Society of Nutrigenetics/Nutrigenomics). She is the founder and director of Lifecode Gx which provides DNA testing, analysis and consulting for professional use. Emma believes in a functional medicine approach - looking at the whole person including genetics, health history, symptoms, nutrition and lifestyle to empower individuals to optimise their physical and mental health.
