BIOME Restoration and helminths in chronic inflammatory and allergic disorders

The rates of autoimmune illnesses, allergies, autism and "mental illnesses" continue to escalate throughout the industrialised world. There is growing evidence that many of these conditions are caused by the loss of exposure to many of our commensal organisms. For example, improved hygiene, water purification, shoes, processed food, and our ubiquitous use of toilets have contributed to the depletion of our intestinal organisms, including helminths (intestinal worms). These macrobiotic animals live in all mammals on the planet, except for humans in industrialised countries, where the rates of these immune-mediated illnesses have sky-rocketed in the last few decades. Research shows that restoring our internal ecosystem with benign helminths may lead to a more regulated, less inflammatory immune response.

About the speaker

Judith Chinitz is founder and CEO of BIOME restoration, the premier provider of non-pathogen helminths, intestinal worms that have empirically shown that they are capable of training weak immune systems and help to restore normal function. She is also author of We Band of Mothers: Autism My Son & the Specific Carbohydrate Diet.
