When it’s Not Just Hormones: Unpicking a Complex Menopause Case

Menopause gets blamed for almost everything: bloating, constipation, migraines, fatigue, aches, low mood. Sometimes hormones are part of the problem, but sometimes they are simply the easiest things to blame.

Using a complex client case, Charlotte Hunter will look at what happens when hormone support is working, but the client still isn’t well. She’ll explore how The Food Inflammation Test, Gut Barrier Panel and Metabolic Insights Profile helped uncover different pieces of the puzzle; what the results could genuinely tell us, what they couldn’t, and which findings were actually worth acting on.

This is a practical session about resisting the urge to blame everything on menopause, avoiding the temptation to treat every red flag on a report, and turning a pile of symptoms and test results into a sensible plan.

Speaker bio:

Charlotte Hunter is a nutritionist and has been in clinical practice since 2010. Her work focuses on adverse food reactions, immune-gut interactions, and the practical use of functional laboratory testing to improve clinical outcomes.

Charlotte is currently completing her MSc in Nutritional Medicine and has a particular interest in how immune tolerance and intestinal permeability influence food sensitivity responses. She also leads a team of nutritionists in her busy menopause practice.

Charlotte manages KBMO Diagnostics UK and has worked extensively with a range of functional and conventional laboratory providers. This gives her a unique, balanced perspective on the strengths, limitations, and clinical application of food sensitivity testing across the industry.

She is passionate about helping practitioners move beyond test results alone, combining clinical reasoning, current research, and practical tools to create safe, personalised nutrition strategies.
