Antony Haynes
Building Nervous System Resilience
The nervous system is not just a regulator of stress – it is a primary safety‑sensing system, constantly assessing whether the body is equipped to heal, adapt, and respond.
In modern clinical practice, many clients remain “stuck” in dysregulation despite appropriate interventions, because the foundations for nervous system safety have not yet been restored.
In this session, Antony Haynes explores the key nutritional and metabolic factors that underpin nervous system resilience. He will examine the role of micronutrients in neurotransmitter synthesis, the impact of blood sugar instability and cortisol on sympathetic dominance, and why clients often fail to respond to treatment when the nervous system perceives ongoing threat.
This talk will emphasise gentle, staged support approaches that prioritise safety and stability, rather than “pushing regulation”.
Practitioners will gain practical insights into recognising nervous system overload and supporting clients in a way that restores capacity, responsiveness, and resilience over time.

Quite apart from supporting clients with Chronic Fatigue conditions, and as someone who has exercised throughout his whole lifetime, graduating with a Sports Science Degree in 1987, Antony has spent much time exploring how to optimise mitochondrial function.
