ANP Politics Update. Exposing the Pharma Crisis: Insights from the First! Do No Pharm Premiere

On Monday, 23rd September, ANP Politics had the opportunity to attend the premiere of First! Do No Pharm at the Odeon in Leicester Square. It was a significant event, with 800 in attendance.

The film, led by Dr. Aseem Malhotra, presented a compelling critique of pharmaceutical research, focusing on the misuse of drugs like , statins, Vioxx®, Zoloft ® (paroxetine), and Lecanemab (Leqembi ®). It offered an incisive look into the workings of the pharmaceutical industry and its broader impact on health and society.

With contributions from various doctors and researchers, the film exposed fundamental problems with the current research model, particularly the emphasis on statistical significance over clinical outcomes.

In a devastating testimonial, Dr. Fiona Godlee, former editor of the BMJ, highlighted the lack of impartiality in medical journals. This underscored how the pharmaceutical industry controls much of the information available to doctors regarding medications.

While the content may already be familiar to ANP members, First! Do No Pharm is a vital piece of work for educating those outside the realm of natural medicine. It’s worth noting that Dr. Malhotra was taking the film to the U.S. Senate at the end of September, broadening its impact. For more details, you can explore the project here.

The film was thought-provoking, highlighting issues that align closely with our mission. Attending the premiere was a privilege, and it gave us the opportunity to connect with others in the field, exchange ideas, and reflect on the important conversations taking place in healthcare today.
