Course description:
This one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course is ideal for people who need to receive training in First Aid. The course combines theory and practical skills and techniques in an engaging, interactive learning programme and meets the needs of the Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981 and the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2013. Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for floor work. The certificate awarded is valid for three years.
Content of the course:
Understanding the role and responsibilities of the First Aider, assessing a situation; primary and secondary survey, First Aid for a casualty who is unresponsive and not breathing including practical CPR and use of AED, First Aid for a casualty who is unresponsive and not breathing, including recovery position.
Treatment for a casualty suffering from a seizure, first Aid for a choking casualty including practical with choking vest, first Aid treatment for external bleeding, including treatment of shock, First Aid to a casualty with bites, stings and minor injuries including burns
Asthma * First aid treatment to allergic reactions and anaphylaxis * Head injuries, concussion, compression & skull fracture * Diabetes* Breaks, soft tissue injuries & dislocations * Heart Attack*
* These are not routinely included within the HSE and QNUK Emergency First Aid at Work syllabus.
