Spotlight on ANP Members: Pioneering Social Prescribing in Primary Care

ANP Politics was delighted to visit the inspiring social prescribing programme led by ANP member Linda North. Linda is breaking new ground in community-based nutrition and lifestyle support.

Working in partnership with the NHS Integrated Neighbourhood Team, Linda is delivering an innovative project designed to support GP patients living with hypertension. The initiative, funded by the Cheam and South Sutton Primary Care Network (PCN), offers personalised nutrition and lifestyle guidance aimed at improving health outcomes and empowering patients to take control of their wellbeing.

Early results are remarkable. Among participants enrolled in programmes of this kind, GP appointments have been reduced byup to 60%, demonstrating the powerful impact that targeted, evidence-informed nutrition support can have within primary care pathways.

This success story is a great example of ANP practitioners shaping the future of preventative, integrated care, and a launching point for even more impact to come.

Linda will be sharing her experience of how she got involved in this work at our upcoming Careers evening in March. Register today to learn more.
