The interrelationship between the human microbiome, immune dysregulation, and atopic dermatitis is complex and intricate. In the pathogenesis of eczema/atopic dermatitis, a bidirectional relationship exists between Th2 immune cell dominance and skin barrier dysfunction. Th1/Th2 immune cell dysregulation is one of the main underlying causes of allergic skin reactions which create characteristic atopic eczema lesions. Join us for a robust exploration of the research on the microbiome and eczema, and hear how a specific strain of live bacteria may have a beneficial role to play.

Speaker Bio: Global Head of Education at Activated Probiotics, Rebecca is a qualified naturopath and educator with a passion for research and evidence based medicine. As well as lecturing at CNM for 10 years, she has fifteen years of clinical experience and has worked as a clinician, lecturer, and writer in the UK, the US, and Australia.
