From Malfunction to Meaning: Reframing Immune Dysfunctional Disease in Modern Practice

£ 12.00

Many patients arrive frightened, confused, and focused on symptom suppression. At the same time, practitioners often understand illness very differently – as a process involving adaptation, stress, susceptibility, and the body’s attempt to restore balance.
This creates a significant gap in the consultation, a gap between patient and practitioner that is increasing as illnesses become more severe, chronic and on the face of it increasingly malfunctional.

In this lecture, we will use immune disorders; autoimmune, allergies, chronic inflammation – as examples to explore how reframing illness can reduce fear, improve patient participation, and make practice feel more aligned and effective.
While also exploring the difficulties that arise when practitioner and patient remain in different paradigms of illness.
